Parent Support Specialist
Location: Rockford and Grayslake, IL (Hybrid – office, home, and community-based)

About the Role

Clarvida is seeking a Parent Support Specialist to work with parents whose children are under DCFS guardianship. In this role, you will provide targeted parenting coaching and support through both individual and group services. Parents served in this program require a higher level of structured guidance to build effective parenting skills, strengthen natural support systems, and connect with community resources.

You will meet with parents weekly to support positive parenting practices and collaborate closely with each family’s Case Manager. Ongoing communication with the Case Manager will occur at least twice per month to review progress, treatment goals, and any emerging concerns.

This role offers a balanced schedule and meaningful, relationship-driven work supporting family stability and reunification efforts.

Responsibilities

● Provide individual and group-based parenting support services
● Meet with parents weekly to build and reinforce positive parenting skills
● Identify and strengthen parents’ natural support systems
● Link families to appropriate community-based services and resources
● Collaborate closely with Case Managers to coordinate care and services
● Communicate regularly regarding family progress, goals, and challenges
● Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation
● Deliver services in office, home, and community settings as needed

Requirements

● Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field
● Experience providing parenting support and/or working in a child welfare setting preferred
● Valid Driver’s License in good standing and active automobile insurance
● Ability to obtain an Illinois Driver’s License within 30 days of hire if relocating from out of state
● CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
