The Service Improvement Office plays an integral role in the success of the University by identifying areas of inefficiency, streamlining workflows, implementing change, and developing staff capabilities to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and increase the overall effectiveness across the University.   .
 
About the role

The Business Analyst (Service Improvement) partners across the University to identify inefficiencies, streamline workflows, implement change, and build staff capability to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve overall organisational effectiveness. Working closely with key stakeholders, the role drives the identification, prioritisation, and delivery of highimpact service improvement initiatives, enabling sustainable change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, thought leadership, and capability development to meet evolving operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with business units across the University to review current processes and practices, identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including IT Business Analysts, to redesign and optimize processes using recognized improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Prosci, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Support the development of change management and project management plans, including preparing and presenting solution designs to the CSIO and relevant stakeholders for approval prior to implementation.
  • Use data analysis and performance metrics to assess process efficiency, measure improvement outcomes, and identify further opportunities to enhance service delivery.
  • Support the planning and delivery of process improvement initiatives by assisting with change management strategies, project execution, risk identification and mitigation, and ensuring timelines, budgets, and objectives are achieved.
  • Engage with stakeholders to align improvements with business needs, stay informed on industry best practices and emerging technologies, and conduct postimplementation reviews to assess effectiveness, user adoption, and continuous improvement opportunities.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Post graduate qualifications, or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or extensive experience and management expertise, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/ or education/ training.
  • Extensive experience delivering highquality continuous improvement and change management outcomes in complex environments characterized by uncertainty and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in business analysis, process improvement, continuous improvement methodologies, change leadership, and project management, with certification in Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, PROSCI or similar methodologies highly desirable.
  • Strong capability to develop innovative business solutions, manage competing demands, and apply sound analysis to identify process limitations, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to engage, influence, and build effective relationships with clients and diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly developed planning, prioritization, and organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate projects, adhere to agreed timeframes, manage risks, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and performance excellence.
