About the role
This position conducts regular teaching and academic duties within the Communication & Clinical Practice (CCP) domain for pre-clinical students at the University of Notre Dame National School of Medicine, Fremantle Campus to ensure that learning objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, development and implementation of the Communication and Clinical Practice (CCP) Domain curriculum in Years 1 and 2.
- Assist with the development of assessment items for both written and clinical examinations which includes the marking of written assessments and acting as an examiner for Years 1 and 2 clinical examinations.
- Teach in the clinical skills program.
- Deliver lectures and tutorials as requested by the Chair of the CCP Domain.
- Participate in professional development opportunities provided by the School and the University and representing the School at University Open Days and other community events.
- Contribute to the student marketing, admission, interview, enrolment, and re-enrolment processes as required.
- Provide consultation and academic guidance to students as required.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards and guidelines including identifying, assessing and controlling health and safety risks in the workplace.
- Other duties as directed by the line manager, National Head of School or delegate.
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Possession of a Medical qualification registrable with AHPRA and a Fellowship of a relevant professional body or significant progress towards.
- Current experience/practice in patient care.
- Experience in teaching and assessment of clinical skills in health settings.
- Familiarity with and understanding of the tertiary education environment.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills required for teaching and counselling medical students and staff.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a flexible and collaborative environment.
- Use the written style guide and enterprise agreement for support
