The School of Nursing and Midwifery offers undergraduate programs that are highly regarded by the profession and a range of postgraduate coursework and nursing research programs. About the role

Compose a brief, clear description of the position using simple language. Describe the functions of the role, location, purpose and where possible how the role relates to the university's mission and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver curriculum components that align with the staff member’s disciplinary and professional background.
  • A level A Academic Staff Member will work with support and direction from Academic Staff Members.
  • Undertake teaching activities with an increasing degree of autonomy and as a member of the teaching team.
  • Attend School meetings as required and participate in school and university wide committees and activities as required.
  • Demonstrate commitment to seeking and responding to feedback (student, peers and supervisor) to improve teaching practice.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Hold a Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent and a minimum Postgraduate certificate qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Current nurse registration with Ahpra.
  • Have at least 3 years clinical nursing experience.
  • A demonstrated ability to develop teaching resources and deliver courses in a variety of formats, including the effective use of online learning management within a tertiary environment.
  • Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skill with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Have experience in teaching in the clinical nursing environment, either to peers or student nurses.
