About the opportunity:

NetDocuments is seeking a Product Owner to lead its productivity solutions, including the web UI, mobile apps, and integration with Microsoft Office technologies. This role will be a critical part of the agile software development team. You will be responsible for translating the strategic vision into features, user stories and tasks for our core document and email management solution. This position will play a leadership-oriented role on the scrum team using inputs from the Product Manager to determine specifications, manage the delivery timeline of individual features, as well as define acceptance criteria for new features and functionality. The Product Owner will report to the Director of Product Management.

The ideal candidate will have experience collaborating with development teams and understand the technicality of features, define prioritization, and coordinate product schedules for timely releases. You will need experience playing a key role in enhancing the legal technology market by identifying and assessing customer and prospect needs and facilitating the development team to build innovative solutions.

What your contributions will be:

  • Assist in defining the scope of ongoing projects by informing product specifications and requirements.
  • Provide information to the Product Manager regarding project status, risk, and mitigation options.
  • Make recommendations on process improvements to facilitate on-time and reliable delivery of features.
  • Help bring new products to market by establishing time schedules for individual features and improvements.
  • Build and maintain an appropriately prioritized sprint backlog for the team.
  • Establish acceptance criteria for user stories, help identify test cases, and approve user stories.
  • Other duties as assigned

What you will need for success:

  • 6+ months as a Product Owner or related experience, preferably in the legal/cloud technology industry
  • Tech savvy and passionate about building products
  • Strong technical writing ability
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties


Ideally you will have:

  • Experience with best practice agile scrum development and lean startup principles
  • Experience with MS DevOps, Aha!, and/or Pendo are valuable to this role
  • Experience managing desktop applications and/or data migration tools is helpful in this role
