The Printing Ink Technician is responsible for preparation, toning, and color matching inks for all printing jobs on press. The Printing Ink Technician has a good eye for color, is skilled in differentiating colors and tones, and understands color theory.

Responsibilities:
- The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintains ink supply at all presses as needed.
- Record and enter ink usage per job.
- Conducts color match at the press to assist as needed to ensure job approval.
- Obtains and enters approved formulas in database.
- Handles color matching per customer requests and preparation of color submissions.
- Assists in putting away inks as they are delivered.
- Assists in managing inventory levels on all ink products.
- Assists in color standard preparation as needed.
- Enter and document all security inks used and received in QC database.
- Enter inks when delivered in database to complete purchase orders.
- Maintain ink levels to be inventoried and ordered.
Qualifications:
- High school or GED equivalent required.
- Must have advanced color matching knowledge.
- Must have experience in X-Rite color matching and approval.
- Must have general computer skills, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT, etc.).
- Must have strong math skills.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be organized and demonstrate ability to maintain organized working space in the ink lab and retain areas.
- Must understand and follow safe work practices and procedures.
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs without assistance.
- Must be willing to learn other ink systems as needed.
- Must have perfect or near perfect vision (with or without corrective lenses) and normal color vision.
- Must be flexible with the ability to adjust working schedule and duties.
- Should have an understanding of resins, pigments, and additives.
- Should have experience in multiple ink systems.
