Job Descriptions:
Lease Accounting
- Ensure full compliance with US GAAP and in-country statutory requirements (e.g., IFRS 16) for lease accounting maintenance and processing.
- Develop familiarity with Company accounting policies, relevant GAAP, and applicable accounting standards.
- Assist in migrating lease accounting tasks from local business units to the shared service center as needed.
- Review lease contracts and rental expenses to maintain accurate records, prepare accounting write-ups, and update the lease register/system.
- Ensure all supporting documentation for lease accounting is complete, properly maintained, and accurately filed.
Month-end Close
- Record lease accounting entries in the accounting system promptly, in line with service level agreements.
- Collaborate with the Local Controller to ensure timely closure of leases accounts and support the financial close process.
- Prepare month-end journals in accordance with Company accounting policies, ensuring compliance with local and US accounting standards.
- Update the monthly Oracle FCCS roll-forward data form accurately and on time to support corporate monthly analysis.
Statutory Reporting
- Maintain database of Company entities subject to statutory audit and taxation, including relevant information.
- Coordinate and support auditors for designated Company entities during the statutory audit process.
- Understand, track, and report statutory audit requirements, progress and findings for Company entities globally.
- Lead process or control improvements to reduce occurrence of audit adjustments. Continuously assess and revisit issues raised by auditors to ensure appropriate resolution.
- Reviews reconciliation of financial results from statutory books to management/US GAAP books.
- Ensure full adherence to document retention requirements by regulatory authorities in country of operations of business unit.
Technical Accounting Focus
- Preparation of financial reporting and non-complex group consolidation.
- Keep up with latest developments in in US GAAP and IFRS and assess impact to Company.
- Involve in the end-to-end process of lease accounting of the Group
- Execute ad-hoc technical projects identified.
Process & Change Management
- Establish and execute shared service migration plans and quarterly enhancement projects.
- Collaborate with other functional team to establish best practice documentation for O2R, P2P, R2R processes and master data maintenance.
- Collaborate with functional teams to manage process enhancements and optimization.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead development and implementation of positive changes in the shared service processes in the Company.
- Leverage on use of technology and implement cost-neutral process enhancements.
- Lead corporate accounting in compliance work including US governmental reporting and internal quarterly certs.
- Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure the Company's financial practices align with industry standards and legal obligations.
Service Level and Team Collaboration
- Promote a strong service ethos to support delivery to agreed Service Level Agreements.
- Act as the focal point to ensure effective communication and resolution of operational related issues and decisions.
- Build long-term relationships with Company’s internal stakeholders and leadership team.
- Work closely with other operation functions to ensure seamless coordination of financial activities.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Team Manager and/or Team Lead.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration or equivalent with professional qualifications (ACCA/CPA/MIA).
- Fluent in both spoken and written English.
- Independent, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify the root cause of issues and implement corrective actions.
- Able to multi-task, pay attention to details, thrives in fast-paced environments.
- Candidate who has Shared Services Centre (SSC) experience is an added advantage.
