What you’ll do

  • This position will report to the General Counsel
  • Review and confirm legal descriptions of property based on third-party title work
  • Manage communication, document execution and workflow for closings of land/lot acquisitions
  • Review and confirm closing statements, including tax prorations and other fees/charges
  • Coordinate acquisition file management, involving coordinating all aspects of an acquisition and ensuring appropriate steps are taken in a timely fashion
  • Complete pending purchase and sale agreements, assignments, development management agreements, and amendments thereto, and create critical dates summaries and closing checklists for real estate deals
  • Calculate and calendar legal deadlines and filing documents as required
  • Order and review title reports and exception documents
  • Prepare closing instruction letters, closing documents, review title policies and work with title companies regarding any policy issues
  • Draft and file corporate governance documents, including resolutions, annual reports and incumbency certificates
  • Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed

What you bring

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Should have Paralegal certification
  • 5+ years of Real Estate transactional experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and able to track an acquisition from initial contact through closing
  • Demonstrate an ability to meet strict deadlines, with multiple projects while maintaining organized project files
  • Must process creative problem-solving skills, resourcefulness and tenacity
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work, prioritize appropriately, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint, Abode Pro, DocuSign and Litera Compare

Bonus points

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university a plus
