Currently, we are seeking a Senior Go/API Developer with a strong English level to join our team. Here are the challenges that our next warrior will face and the requirements we look for:
Position Title: Senior Go/API Developer
Location: Remote / LATAM
What you will be doing:
- Contribute to the technical design, development, and implementation of the Mode Global application ecosystem.
- Brainstorm technical architecture options and provide innovative solutions.
- Review and provide constructive feedback on PRs from other team members.
- Fix bugs and improve unit test coverage.
- Participate in shaping the development process and mentoring junior developers.
- Implement best practices, standards, and strategic refactoring.
- Collaborate with the Development Team and Business Analysts in a collaborative environment.
- Ensure high availability during core hours and work independently when required.
- Take ownership of tasks and ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Improve existing systems and contribute to the creation of new software products.
- Engage in continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes.
- Maintain and improve code quality through Test Driven Development.
- Utilize DevOps principles to enhance development and deployment processes.
- Ensure code and systems are secure and scalable.
Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Main Skills:
These are the must-haves that are essential for this position.
- Recent Go Language experience, version v1.16 or higher.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Experience with Test Driven Development.
- 7+ years of development experience.
- Excellent command of object-oriented programming concepts and coding best practices.
- Excellent command of Git and GitHub.
- Excellent command of Linux and familiarity with basic DevOps principles.
- Excellent command of relational databases (MySQL and Postgres).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with AWS services and GitHub Actions.
- Comfortable with Docker and Docker configurations.
- Experience in mentoring and shaping the development process.
- Desire to help continue the transformation of heavily used enterprise systems.
- Demonstrated aptitude for estimation and self-direction.
- Enjoy working in a collaborative small team environment.
- Strong sense of task ownership.
- Can work independently and be highly available during core hours.
- Secondary Skills:

- Experience with PHP.
- Experience with Symfony/Laravel.
- Experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript ES5 & ES6, jQuery, NPM.
- Experience with React.
- Experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum Development.
- Experience refactoring production enterprise systems.
- Experience with Jira/Confluence.
- Enterprise scale DBA experience with strong control of complex joins, MySQL functions, triggers, stored procedures, writing raw queries from scratch, and investigating complex queries.
