Position Title: Commercial Groundskeeper
Reports To: Environmental Supervisor
Position Overview: The environmental Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety and operational efficiency within JBS. This role emphasize the safe operation of heavy equipment, yard maintenance, snow removal, and general support for other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operation of Heavy Equipment:
Safely operate the following equipment
- Pay-Loader
- Skid-steer with sweeper attachment
- Forklift
2. Yard Maintenance
- Ensure dumpster areas are clean and orderly.
- Monitor and clean storm water drains.
- Manage manure spills from cattle trucks.
- Clean rendering areas during equipment breakdowns.
- Replace or drag gravel in main plant and DC yards.
- Conduct daily checks of main yard for any necessary cleaning.
3. Snow Removal
- Assist the Truck Garage with snow removal and salt application during winter.
- Be available for early or late shifts based on weather conditions.
4. Support of Other Departments
- Move dumpsters and clean inside when needed.
- Unload equipment or parts from trailers using pay-loader, skid steer, or forklift
- Pick up parts from local businesses
- Clean doorways and access areas leading into the plant.
- Push rendering bone meal containers to designated locations.
5. Loading of Barn Waste
- Load barn-waste into trailers for off-site transportation
- Conduct weekly checks of spill kits around the plant and DC areas.
6. General Maintenance
- Assist with waste-water and grease recovery area maintenance.
Qualifications:
Strong focus on safely and adherence to operational protocols.
Experience with operating heavy equipment is highly preferred.
Ability to work in various weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Clean driving record.
