Shipping Supervisor

 Purpose and Scope/General Summary:  We are looking for A Shipping Supervisor at the Lenoir, NC facility! This role directs and controls warehouse activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing raw material and finished goods inventories. Plans and schedules department functions to ensure the prompt delivery of merchandise of the kind and in the amount ordered. Staffs, organizes, and directs operations within a warehouse to effectively manage the receipt, storage, selection, and packaging, loading, and shipping of products to customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Ensures products, parts, or supplies are shipped, distributed, or received in an efficient manner.
  • Works with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing departments.
  • Prepares or reviews distribution documents.
  • Ensure products are loaded correctly, and in a timely manner.
  • Transportation responsibilities, schedule all outgoing loads with carriers including coordinating pick-up times.
  • Controls costs through productivity of personnel, efficient utilization of storage space, and proper protection of stored materials.
  • Maintains records of inventories and location for production control and cost accounting.
  • Recommends warehouse/material handling equipment needs and replacement.
  • Responsible for enforcing company policies of conduct and safety and initiating disciplinary action.
  • Identifies the causes of product losses and takes corrective action.

  • Experience in a fast paced environment 
  • Previous experience in a shipping environment required 
  • Previous Supervisory experience 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills 
  • Strong time management and organizational skill; Ability to multitask 
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation 
  • As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $60,000-$65,000]
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s quarterlybonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program
