Position Summary:

The Vendor Managed Inventory Analyst will provide support managing the Customer Vendor Managed Inventory, forecasting and reporting of key supply chain metrics for our Costco business.  This role will work directly with  and support the Costco Account Team members to manage customer inventory levels, forecasting inventory to meet sales demands, and provide ongoing reporting analysis utilizing internal data, Account POS and IRI Syndicated Data. 


  • Manage Customer Vendor Managed Inventory, monitoring daily inventory levels, writing warehouse specific orders to maintain required inventory levels
  • Work with internal and external teams to ensure all orders deliver within required delivery timelines.
  • Analyzes daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages.
  • Work with Account buyers and regional teams on inventory and issues.
  • Manage inventory reports and weekly PO tracking.
  • Responsible for managing forecast and inventory needs to maximize sales, lower markdowns, and minimize returns.
  • Provide assistance, guidance and direction regarding sales patterns and future purchasing philosophies and parameters.
  • Monitors demand and analyzes data to anticipate future supply and logistical needs.
  • Support forecasting for projects and new product introduction initiatives.
  • Interact with sales, marketing and planning, leading monthly forecasting discussions to ensure inventory is on time.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop forecast models and evaluate results.
  • Monitor and escalate changes in key metrics; research and identify root cause.
  • Generate reports and provide information to ensure healthy inventory levels, contribute to decision making process, and monitor return rates ongoing using internal data, Account POS, and IRI Data

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business or Related Field or Equivalent Experience.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in Supply Chain or Sales working with Costco.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with high attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of demand and supply chain management, market trends, inventory management and business strategy preferred.
  • Strong End to End supply chain understanding.
  • Experience in data mining and data analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced training in Excel. Must be able to use advanced formulas, conditional formatting, pivot tables, pivot reporting, v-lookups, filters, etc.
  • Experience in forecasting based on history and trend 52 weeks out.
  • Experience as strong supporting role in Sales Team setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Accuracy and extreme attention to detail.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.

Environmental Factors:

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally for business 25-30% of the time.
  • Must be Covid-19 vaccinated.
