Position Summary:
The Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing daily distribution center (DC) operations, ensuring efficient inbound, outbound, and value‑added service (VAS) workflow execution. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and 3PL teams to maintain operational excellence, drive continuous improvement, and ensure deliverables are met in alignment with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnership
- Partner with Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, and various brands to fulfill VAS/QC projects at the DC
- Provide support for inbound optimization and supplier challenges
- Partner with internal stakeholders (Customer Service, Planning, and Finance) to address service issues and implement corrective actions
- Partner with 3PL for all IB QC issues and special projects
- Work closely with the 3PL to manage inbound QC issues, IB damaged inventory discrepancies, and special project requirements
- Maintain strong cross-functional relationships to promote transparency, accuracy, and timely issue resolution
- Implement corrective actions when quality issues arise, working closely with production teams.
- Ability to oversee 3PL accessorial labor projects, including product conversions and rework and returns/damages sorting.
Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving
- Recommend data-backed solutions to eliminate bottlenecks and improve flow and efficiency
- Drive accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement in partnership with the 3PL
- Create, maintain, and improve SOPs and Work Instructions for all operational processes; ensure documentation remains current and aligned with business changes
Qualifications/skills:
- 2–5 years of experience working in a 3PL, distribution, warehouse, or logistics environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control methods, and operational reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and support high‑volume operations.
Environmental Factors:
- Working conditions are normal for an office/warehouse environment.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time.
- This role requires on-site presence 5 days/week in Hagerstown, MD.
