Special Projects Engineering Lead

The Special Projects Engineering Lead will have experience in designing, implementing, and building end to end business solutions to achieve business outcomes. As the Special Projects Engineering, you will be responsible for serving as the lead engineer across multiple small projects at any given time with multiple engineering resources to potentially include UX, data engineers, software engineers, platform engineers, and data scientists. You will work closely with a Special Project Product Owner to manage and execute on a backlog of capabilities that meet internal business needs which will include internal infrastructure, data management, and rapid prototyping efforts. 
Anticipated responsibilities may include:
  1. Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of special projects that meet the internal business needs.
  2. Conduct requirements gathering with multiple internal stakeholders across several business units in tandem with the Special Projects Product Owner.
  3. Work closely with development teams to ensure infrastructure supports the software development life cycle, including continuous integration and deployment.
  4. Lead the DevOps team to develop automation tools and processes to streamline software development and deployment.
  5. Collaborate closely with Special Projects Product Owner on the development, curation, and execution of a special projects backlog.
  6. Work with business resource leadership, such as Program Managers, to appropriately allocate overhead personnel that includes temporary allocations, interns, and skillbridge candidates. 
  7. Conduct personnel skills assessments to correctly resource engineers into the appropriate special projects. 
  8. Develop and implement internal projects standards and best practices for engineering teams. 
  9. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers. 
  10. Evaluate new technologies and common services and make recommendations for their use. 
  11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based solutions. 
  12. Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements. 
Qualifications:
  1. 4+ years of software development experience and demonstrated understanding of the SDLC.
  2. 4+ years of experience in cloud architecture with AWS and or Azure. (certificate preferred).
  3. 1+ years of experience as a team lead or anchor on an agile program.
  4. Experience with multiple programming languages (such as Python, Go, and Java) and API integration.
  5. Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Git.
