About Technical Operations
BioMarin’s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. These engineers, technicians, scientists and support staff build and maintain BioMarin’s cutting-edge manufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to ensure we meet regulatory standards, and procure the needed goods and services to support manufacturing and coordinating the worldwide movement of our drugs to patients.
SAP Business Process Manager – Order Fulfilment & EDI Integration
Hybrid (2 days on site Dublin)

Position Summary:
The Business Process Manager (BPM) is the strategic owner of end-to‑end Order Fulfilment processes within the SAP ecosystem. They ensure processes are standardized, optimized, and aligned with organizational goals, translating business needs into system requirements and leading implementations, change management, and continuous improvement. The BPM maintains template integrity, supports global deployments, and partners cross‑functionally to design, enhance, and govern Order Management, Shipping, Delivery, and EDI‑enabled workflows to ensure seamless integration and business alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Leadership & Governance
End-to-End Accountability: Own the entire OTC Order Fulfilment lifecycle—from Order Receipt through to Shipping and Delivery—ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer expectations
Lead OTC Order Fulfilment process governance to provide oversight and data-driven monitoring of process performance, compliance, and transformation progress.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, Global Trade and IT teams to integrate processes and resolve bottlenecks across order entry, shipping, and delivery ensuring seamless integration with partners
Ensure adherence to regulatory and audit requirements across all sub-processes
Support CoE governance by aligning process initiatives with strategic objectives.
Coordinate resources across SMEs, technical teams, and vendors for ERP-related projects.
Act as a change agent, promoting process excellence and SAP adoption across the organization.
Process Analysis, Design & Optimization
· Define and maintain global OTC Order Fulfilment process standards and frameworks.
· Collaborate with commercial, customer service, logistics, and finance stakeholders to gather requirements, map AS-IS/TO-BE processes, and identify improvement opportunities.
· Lead workshops to define business rules, functional requirements, and end-to-end OTC process flows.
· Ensure designs consistently follow global templates, governance standards, and internal control requirements.
· Conduct change impact assessments and develop mitigation plans.
SAP S/4HANA SD Functional requirements & Solution Delivery
· Own and maintain SAP template integrity, ensuring adherence to “fit-to-standard” principles.
· Collaborate with Solution Architects to translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios.
· Govern template changes through structured Change Control processes
· Provide oversight to maintenance, design and testing of SD capabilities including:
· Sales order processing (order types, item categories, schedule lines, ATP/ aATP).
· Delivery and shipping processes (shipping points, routes, picking, packing, output types).
· Returns, cancellations, credit/debit memos, claims, and related workflows.
· Billing e-invoicing or EDI integrations where applicable).
· Partner with technical teams and architects to design and ensure robust integration with MM, FI/AR, EWM, TM, Credit Management, and Global Trade.
· Maintain and review documentation including, process flows, process solution design documents, and change controls.
· Train business users on Fiori navigation, personalization, and app usage to maximize productivity and standardization.
· Testing, Deployment & Hypercare
· Lead Unit, SIT, UAT, regression testing, and production validation activities.
· Manage test scripts, execution cycles, and defect resolution.
· Support cutover planning, data validation, and go-live readiness.
· Provide hypercare support and stabilization for SD, EDI, and Fiori processes.
· Data, Reporting & Controls
· Partner with Master Data teams on customer master, material sales views, pricing, and output records.
· Support analytics through embedded S/4HANA reporting, Fiori dashboards, SAC, or BW.
· Ensure compliance with SOX/GxP and internal control frameworks.
· EDI & Systems Integration
· Serve as the SD/OTC lead for EDI-enabled business transactions, ensuring seamless integration between SAP S/4HANA and external trading partners, carriers, 3PLs, and customer systems.
· Manage design, maintenance and troubleshooting for EDI message types such as: ORDERS/ORDRSP, INVOIC, DESADV, ORDCHG, DELJIT/DELFOR, payment remittance, etc.
· Work with integration teams to define mapping requirements and support testing.
· Collaborate with external partners on onboarding, compliance, and resolution of integration-related defects.
· Define monitoring requirements, error-handling processes, and proactive alerting to ensure EDI stability and business continuity.

Technical Skills
· SAP S/4HANA Expertise in Sales & Distribution modules.
Deep Understanding of SAP S/4HANA SD configuration
Deep expertise in Order-to-Cash, Order Management and Shipping.
Strong understanding of EDI and IDoc processing, partner profiles, and integration architecture.
Proficiency with business analysis techniques, requirements gathering, and process mapping.
· End-to-End Process Ownership across internal and external partners.
· Process Design & Optimization with a focus on compliance and efficiency.
· Architecture & Technology ability to work with solutions and technical team to support the delivery of robust, secure, and scalable ERP and platform architecture. Delivers seamless system integration, automation, and change control to maintain operational stability.
