SUMMARY DESCRIPTIONState the overall function or purpose of the job. The Country Director will be responsible for leading all commercial operations in China. Responsibilities and functional oversight will include commercial operations, promotional activities, marketing operations, partner management, health care financing, health policy and politics. |

ü Lead, develop and establish professional relationships and strategies with Health Authorities, reimbursement bodies, key physicians, pharmacists and patient & scientific associations in the specific region. ü Monitor health policy changes in the macro environment and lead action to secure and grow the regional business. ü Responsible for all strategic activities related to marketing and the promotion of BioMarin’s products in the sub-region. ü Responsible for all compliance adherence with local requirements and corporate guidelines and policies. ü Responsible for and lead the strategic identification, development and management of local marketing or distribution partners. ü Responsible for the leadership and development of employees. Responsible for ensuring that the succession and engagement of our talent is emphasized and delivered. ü Lead and provide strategic direction on all aspects of market development in the assigned sub-region. ü Provide strategic influence to develop /or manage reimbursement planning and successful launch plans for products marketed or licensed by BioMarin. ü Responsible for pricing strategies, decisions and forecasts with overall responsibility for expenditure and spending. ü Responsible for budget development and oversight together with strategic review of business plans. ü Develop and lead performance strategy to build new business development links together with leading and growing the BioMarin product portfolio. ü Proactively develop and lead market specialty interests to support the BioMarin pipeline portfolio. ü Role Model strong collaborations and alliances with our BioMarin center functions to deliver overall success. ü Demonstrate strong capability to operate successfully in a cross continental, matrixed and multiple time zone commercial organization. ü Report any pharmacovigilance issues with the timelines specified in the relevant SOP’s to BioMarin Drug Safety following local requirements. ü Collaboratively work with all leaders to drive the overall success and performance of the Commercial organization. |

ü BS/BA degree in Business or Life Sciences ü Fluent English and Mandarin |
EXPERIENCEState both the minimum and the preferred number of years of relevant experience, and describe the essential functions of the job. |
ü Minimum 10 years management experience in the pharmaceutical market in addition to operations experience. ü Minimum of 12 years operations experience in marketing and sales with proven success at advancing levels of responsibility. Significant knowledge of local regulation, reimbursement and pricing policies. ü Significant understanding of the healthcare system ü Well versed in developing and strategically aligning business plans. ü Ability to respond to rapidly changing priorities and effectively manage changes to business strategy and execution plans. ü Adept conceptual thinker with strong analytical and problem solving skills. ü Able to lead initiatives, advocate for programs and the ability to present compelling supporting facts and back up data. ü Excellent communication ability, both verbal and written, at all levels. ü The ability and desire to interact with multi-disciplinary teams. ü Comfortable and effective leading indirectly through others |
