Position Summary:

This position works directly with the technicians, outside sales team, national accounts department and customers. As a part of the service department you will work with this group to generate quotations and estimates based upon information received.   This position will follow the quotation through the quote and order entry process until it becomes the responsibility of the Service Coordination Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Responds to demand requests and/or recommendations via phone, xoi and email in a timely manner. 
  • As required, the quotation specialist is responsible for maintaining relationships with suppliers and equipment vendors. These relationships can be used to keep track of current pricing and to negotiate better rates for long-term or large-scale projects when required.
  • Distribute quotations in timely manner.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and maintains a high level of credibility.
  • A detailed estimate must be completed for each recommendation that determines sell prices, but also determines the labor and material that is required to complete the work.
  • Once the customer accepts the quotation, the material is ordered & received. Paperwork is prepared and properly turned over to the service coordinators to execute.
  • Maintaining a record of quotations (approved, pending, rejected) and providing follow-up with customers when required.
  • Works closely with service technicians to ensure our commitments to the customer are kept.
  • Assist co-workers with day to day operations and set up for following day’s schedule, prior to leaving the office.  Familiar with departmental routines to provide effective backup when required.
  • Facilitate communication with other team members, sub-contractors staff and other employees.
  • Provide support to the reconcilers and billing department upon completion of work to ensure profit margins are in line with the quotation and that work was completed within the quoted parameters.
  • Adhere to safety standards.  High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
  • Attend any training provided that will assist in the execution of our service delivery and/or HS&E requirements.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary technical degree and/or 1- 2 years’ experience in relevant industry. 
  • proficient technical knowledge of relevant industrial products.
  • Background in responding to client inquires in a similar settings. 
  • Effective customer service skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications; Excel is essential. 
  • Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills. 
  • Ability to multi-task, work within a fast-paced environment, and prioritize conflicting demands.
