Position Summary:

Reporting directly to VP, Information Technology, Director IT Infrastructure will take an enterprise view to processes and practices, and participate in all aspects of the Network, Telephony, IT Data Center, IT Operations and Infrastructure. The position will work with Stakeholders and Team Members to identify and translate requirements, provide oversight and direction on technical decisions, oversee system design, act as an escalation point for issues, deal with vendors and manage a team of 16 people (5 direct reports).

 

Responsibilities

Take on lead project roles in various operational and support projects. Determine the root cause of problems, formulate and present viable solutions to internal customers and the support and project teams, and ensure the project is successfully completed.  Carries out assignments to provide information technology (IT) infrastructure and/or user support and services. Participates in application systems integration.  After hours support as required.

  • Manage all aspects of an onsite and offsite Technical Team of approximately 5 direct reports which includes but is not limited to: career planning, resource management, performance management, hiring, task delegation, training, personal development etc.,
  • Manage all technology platforms and outsourcing arrangements,
  • Engage, plan and work with all stakeholders and team members to determine, implement and oversee all current and future infrastructure requirements,
  • Create, manage and take part in annual budgets, IT infrastructure roadmap, and project planning for all infrastructure related purchases and initiatives
  • Working within an already existing company IT Roadmap, manage tasks, provide cost-effective strategies to eliminate redundancies, inefficiencies, and lower costs while keeping scalability, robustness, security, continuity of business and disaster recovery with stakeholders in top of mind,
  • Oversee current and anticipated projects to create, replace, enhance and modify technology platforms,
  • Provide reports and communication on all IT Infrastructure related activities to both Stakeholders, the business and direct reports,
  • Assist the CIO, VP, IT Directors and the overall company with IT process improvements, best practices and overall standards,
  • Other IT Manager duties as may be required from time to time.

  • Creating and managing relevant IT budgets, Project Plans and Roadmaps,
  • Define and manage IT processes, improvements, best practices, standards and systems,
  • Apply the following: IT Release Management, IT Change Management, IT Incident and Problem Management, appropriate to the organization’s standards and continuous improvements.
  • Dealing with, negotiating and managing Vendor relationships within an Enterprise environment,
  • Keep current with industry trends, assessing, changing and updating IT Infrastructure environments and leading projects and people to effect transformational change,
  • Work in a hands-on technical capacity as required.
  • Support the successful integration or separation of IT infrastructure services as they pertain to mergers, acquisitions, or sale of business lines.
  • Maintain effective communication skills, Written, Verbal, Presentation and Interpersonal - both technical and non-technical.
  • Conduct new hire orientations to brief new employees on policies and procedures that relate to Information Systems. Obtain user information for setup of workstations, e-mail accounts, and system resources.
  • Purchase of any required IT hardware, software, and support solutions within purchasing guidelines. Produce purchase orders and follow up on items received or not received and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Implement policies and procedures for LAN usage throughout the organization.
  • Definition, implementation and management of the corporate mobile strategy
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the IT network.
  • Plan and implement its future development.

 

Qualification:

  • 15+ years’ total experience, including 5+ years in a production 24/7 high-availability multi-site enterprise ERP environment, including application hosting, voice and data networks, security and information protection.
  • Experience of leading overall infrastructure for a complex organization and network, preferably across multi-company and multi-country topologies
  • Working knowledge VMWare, Microsoft stacks, Storage Area Network (SAN) and related technologies, Cisco-based network communications technology, High availability and disaster recovery architecture, communication and related technologies
  • Exposure to ITIL concepts and adoption.
  • Experience with best practices in application and network security.
