ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As Director for Strategy, Planning, Business Model & Pricing, you will be the sole owner developing pricing recommendations and monetization strategy across the Wind River portfolio for edge and cloud products. You will drive leadership buy-in and engage with multiple stakeholders and guide implementation. Wind River and its customers are undergoing a transformation in the Edge computing/IoT space – Wind River is offering a suite of products to enable customers’ digital transformation and you will have the opportunity to solve problems which have a direct impact on Wind River’s topline. You will be part of this new role to help Wind River and its customers’ transformation.

The role requires passion for understanding software products & customer consumption models, analytical, strategic and mentoring skills, willingness to do what it takes to help grow the business, superior business judgement to make tough tradeoffs and keep up with a high pace growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define pricing and monetization strategy for new products and optimize for existing Maximize revenue across products with effective use of pricing and packaging
  • Analyze competition and develop guidelines, strategy for engaging in customer conversations and deals
  • Analyze different vertical segments and develop pricing strategy guidelines focused on a vertical GTM
  • Lead implementation of Pricing by providing guidance to the Sales, Deal Desk, Finance and Accounting teams
  • Define, measure, and monitor key performance indicators and success metrics.
  • Track changes in market trends & conditions. Measure impact of pricing actions and identify potential adjustments to pricing
  • Communicate with the broader cross functional organizations about all pricing related changes and guide business decisions based on evidence & analysis. Influence key stakeholders and drive alignment/agreement on key decisions
  • Define use cases, product requirements and multi-year product roadmap
  • Work shoulder to shoulder with a high caliber engineering team to deliver high quality product
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, professional services and other partners to drive revenue opportunities

 

ABOUT YOU

CORE COMPETENCIES & DEMONSTRATED SUCCESS

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, and the ability to translate those skills into a proven track record in delivering successful pricing & revenue optimization strategies
  • Exceptional critical thinking and attention to detail with a focus on solving problems. Ability to zoom in and out between details and the big picture continuously
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective writing skills with the ability to write clearly to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • BA/BS required in STEM or related technical degree; /MBA preferred
  • Experience with Software subscription business is highly desired
  • Experience in Product Management, Corporate Strategy or Pricing Strategy is highly desired and will determine success in this role
  • Customer facing and market analysis experience highly preferred
  • Experience with Cloud SaaS or IoT Edge related technology products is nice to have

Compensation                

The annual base salary range for this role’s listed grade level is currently $165,000 to $215,000 plus a bonus for Colorado, New York, and New Jersey residents, and $180,000 to $230,000 plus a bonus for SF Bay Area, Greater Seattle, NYC, and Washington, DC, residents. Salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members. Employees in this role are also eligible for the following benefits in accordance with the terms of the Company's plans: health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, flex time off, eligibility to enroll in 401k, and 12 paid holidays.
