ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

 

 

You will have the opportunity to lead and manage a team of DevSecOps infrastructure and build engineers responsible for the infrastructure of the Linux teams’ development environments including applications, source code repositories, micro-services, VMs, cloud, and servers.   You will be collaborating with a team of like-minded development managers to coordinate the work, ensuring on-time delivery of the development team’s projects and products and have regular interfacing with other teams such as QA, Test, Engineering Operations, Corporate IT, and Product Management.  This position will report to the Director, Linux Engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

  • 7-9+ years of relevant software development experience. Experience in DevSecOps/build/SRE is an asset. 
  • 5+ years people/project management as part of a larger team with interdependent responsibilities in an engineering environment. 
  • Relevant technical BS degree. 
  • Business/management degree or coursework desirable.  (Experience can substitute) 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Managing a team of DevSecOps developers and build engineer contributing to continuous stability of the infrastructure of Wind River Linux teams. Responsible for automating the application workflows. 
  • Continuous monitoring critical applications and physical hardware's availability and performance. 
  • Log information, monitor monthly cost, report back to the manager on any warnings and/or issues. 
  • Managerial tasks, such as career planning, goal setting, performance assessment, coaching, performance improvement, compensation, conflict resolution, and other people management tasks  
  • Working with a team of other development and program managers to coordinate work and assure delivery of projects and products on time. 
  • Process development and implementation for the direct team and department.  
  • Contributing to budget allocation and monitoring  
  • Interfacing to various other parts of the company such as QA, Test, Engineering Operations, Corporate IT and Product Management.
