ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Evaluate the current network design and define and implement the evolution of a network architecture for the Cloud Platform Operator product development organization. The infrastructure includes network infrastructure (GW, DNS, AD, Switch, etc.), product test environment, and product build environment.
ABOUT YOU
- In collaboration with other teams, design and implement a network for the product development and test organization.
- Working with in house IT professionals, such as system administrators and security specialists, to maintain a cohesive environment.
- Evaluating and selecting hardware and software solutions to satisfy organizational needs.
- Define and implement Monitoring/Observation tools to ensure peak network and infrastructure performance.
- Define and implement strategy to programmatically configure “Labs” by updating switch and server configuration
- Plan and execute routine maintenance and upgrades to avoid downtime and address security concerns.
- Diagnosing and addressing network faults as soon as possible.
- End-user technical assistance and collaboration with other teams to resolve issues.
- Creating and updating documentation on network setups, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BSc / MSc degree (Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree)
- 5-8 years of network design experience or similar
- Experience with Linux environment
- Programming skills using Python or similar programming languages
- Understanding of network technologies such as switching, routing, firewalls, L2/L3 protocols
- Strong analytical and debugging skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional team player who works well in collaborative environments
- Experience leading the work of others
- Self-managed, fast learner with the desire and ability to master new technologies
- Experience with containers and/or cloud-based technologies including Kubernetes, OpenStack would be an asset
- Exposure to other languages (Shell Scripting) would be an asset
- Experience with industry standard networking test tools would be an asset
- Expertise in Networking equipment like switches, GW, DNS, NAT, AD, …
- Experience with TCP/IP, Vlan and VxLAN network virtualization technology
- Knowledge of DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) and CMDB (Configuration management database) tools
- Integration of Infrastructure tools using REST APIs
- Servers and server management including BMC, Storage equipment
- Monitoring and observation tools
- Knowledge of Ansible, YAML, Redfish, Jenkins
