ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Wind River is seeking an experienced DEVOPS framework developer to join the VxWorks team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, DEVOPS environment setup for safety-critical featured products used by our Aerospace, Industrial and Automotive customers.  As a team member, you will be involved with all aspects of the development of test framework life cycle, from requirements development to implementation to verification. You will work closely with the product management team and system architects to understand and implement the requested features.
Key Responsibilities
  • Helping to develop a DEVOPS framework to support VxWorks, as well as helping Wind River to grow in its role in new embedded and enterprise market segments.
  • Take initiative to improve features and processes.
  • Contribute ideas for product improvements and iterations.
  • Collaborate effectively with global software engineering teams.
 
ABOUT YOU
Core Competencies & Demonstrated Success 
  • Manage the DEVOPS activity for VxWorks/HVP product
  • Manage and create required Jenkin pipelines for different repository.
  • Develop features and support for the virtual deployment manager used by the product team for desktop development and testing.
  • Automate DEVOPS process with high quality code to reduce the manual execution process.
  • Enhance the product CI/CD process to improve team efficiency.
  • Work with the most dynamic and exciting open-source software projects today – Kubernetes (K8S), Ansible, Puppet, Helm, Docker, etc.
  • Work as part of a team focused on containerization and fault tolerant/carrier grade development.
  • Investigate and resolve issues reported during product verification and customer integration.
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development process using agile development.
 
 
Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience and PLUS DEVOPS.
  • 8+ years of programming experience with Python and Ansible
  • 5+ years of experience contributing to the Automation of product (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in building infrastructure software for highly scalable and distributed systems.
  • 5+ years’ experience in DEVOPS activities
  • Track record of building and delivering mission critical, 24x7 production software systems.
  • Experience with modifying and enhancing Linux build systems.
  • Contribution to the open-source community.
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
