The Opportunity
The NDB team operates like a start-up within Nutanix and works on a product targeting the multi-billion-dollar database market. We are quite successful as an on-premises offering and see an enormous amount of interest from customers in the product. We are now embarking on a journey of a multi/hybrid cloud managed service and want people with relevant skills and experience to be part of this exciting opportunity.
Nutanix Database Service is the only hybrid multi-cloud DBaaS for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL. Efficiently manage hundreds to thousands of databases with no complex migration required. Quickly and easily provision new databases, automate important but tedious administrative tasks like patching and backups, and choose the right operating systems, database versions, and database extensions to meet application and compliance requirements.
About the Team
At Nutanix, you would be part of the NDB team, a group of 12 individuals located in both Bangalore and Pune. The team culture at Nutanix is known to be fantastic, making it a great experience to be a part of.
You will report to Aditya Sinha, who is a respected leader within the company. At Nutanix, we offer a hybrid work setup where employees are required to be in the office for 2 days per week. This setup allows for a good balance between collaborating in person and working remotely.
Travel requirements at Nutanix are minimal, so you can focus on your work without the need for extensive travel. This setup ensures that you can dedicate your time and energy to excelling in your role without the added stress of frequent travel.
Your Role
- Architect, design and develop enterprise life cycle management software for databases.
- Architect, design and develop efficient, flexible, scalable, and robust software systems/components
- Develop a deep understanding of customer use cases of various databases in secondary environment and design innovative solutions for customer requirements with a focus on performance.
- Work on defining functionality that is easy-to-use, intuitive to customers.
- Work closely with development, test, documentation and product management teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.
- Follow a methodical approach to design that is future ready and scalable.
What You Will Bring
- Love of programming and rock-solid in one or more languages: Java, Python or Golang
- Must be able to write efficient code with high quality.
- Good understanding of databases like Oracle is a plus.
- A self-starter with excellent communication skills and a strong sense of ownership.
- Nice to have experience with Linux Systems, Storage (SAN/NAS/HCI) and Virtualization
- Experience with object-oriented concepts and design is required.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field is required 4-7 years' experience.
