The Opportunity
We’re looking for a curious and innovative System Test Engineer with experience in automation development and test execution to qualify our NCM product/features. The role is tasked with test planning, test case development, and test execution strategy to assess and improve the overall quality of our products. This requires close collaboration with Development, UI/UX engineers, and the PM team. The role encompasses influencing product design by leveraging the broad knowledge of the product portfolio and ensuring a quality-first mindset.

The NCM QA team at Nutanix is a dynamic and diverse group spread across India and the US. The team is dedicated to ensuring the quality of Nutanix premium features related to intelligent operations, self-service, orchestration, security compliance, and control of cloud costs. With a focus on delivering top-notch solutions, the NCM QA team embodies a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. You will report to Tarish, a seasoned QA manager with extensive experience in managing and delivering QA for enterprise-class products. Tarish is known for being open, honest, and supportive, empowering team members to take ownership and excel in their roles. As the team manager, Tarish prioritizes individual growth, team culture, and collaboration, fostering a positive work environment.

Your Role
- Design test plan and test case development for NCM products.
- Define an automation plan and test strategy within release timelines.
- End-to-end product quality ownership with all aspects of the test, automation, and delivery of the feature set
- Identify and document edge cases, scalability issues, and performance bottlenecks within complex distributed systems.
- Develop automation libraries for the functional areas owned.
- Automate tests, improve existing automated tests and overall automated test execution efficiency.
- Maintain a high overall quality index(QI) for the product/features at all times.
- The ability to delve deeper into debugging product issues with development engineers.
- Working in a highly collaborative environment involving global engineering teams.
- Involve in providing active feedback to improve the overall product experience.
- Debugging, filing bugs, and tracking them to closure.
- Involve in peer reviews to improve completeness, correctness & code check-in standards.
- Guide juniors in the team on functional areas & automation.
What You Will Bring
- Minimum of 7 yrs of experience in QA with System Test focus / performance / load/ scale testing, Automation using Python/Perl/C/C++/Java (python preferred)
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent field.
- Solid experience in qualifying management software infrastructure
- Testing experience with microservice integration and interaction.
- In Depth experience using Docker and Kubernetes
- Good working experience with Microservice Platforms and Cloud Infrastructure
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Experience in automation with Python
- Strong working knowledge of Linux and Distributed Systems.
- Working knowledge of virtualization - VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V
- Familiarity with version control systems such as GIT, build management tools, and Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins/CircleCI
- Testing experience with monitoring/cloud products is a plus.
- Prior integration testing experience of large scale deployments will be a big plus.
- Detail-oriented, self-driven, and good verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with UI automation using selenium webdriver
