About the role

The Master of Paramedicine is novel, contemporary, future-focused, and delivered through the University of Notre Dame Australia School of Medicine. The program is specifically aligned to the professional capabilities for registered paramedics, as governed by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), along with the legislation governing paramedic practice: The Health Practitioner Regulation National Law.

This position is based at our Fremantle campus and is involved in the development and delivery of the postgraduate qualifications in Paramedicine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Course coordination, including the preparation and conduct of lectures, tutorials and practical classes.
  • Development of course material with appropriate advice and support of more senior staff.
  • Marking and assessment of student work within allocated courses, and to support moderation of assessment across courses.
  • Supporting students, clinical facilitators and facilities during work integrated learning
  • Consultation and pastoral care with students.
  • A range of administrative functions with the courses in which the academic teaches.
  • Attendance at school meetings and/or membership of relevant committees.
  • Other duties as identified by the Program Coordinator or Head of School.
  • Comply with policies and procedures in all aspects of their work and conduct.
  • Authority to commit resources of UNDA in line with the Operational Delegations of Authority.
  • Other duties as directed by the line manager, National Head of School or delegate.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Possession of a PhD or a Master’s with experience in teaching in medical, health or professional practice based education settings.
  • Education experience in industry or higher education.
  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Paramedic or a Registered Nurse with out of hospital clinical experience.
