The Senior Accountant applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the below outlined duties.

Responsibilities:
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare and post journal entries to general ledger accounts to accurately record business transactions.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining general ledger account reconciliations with supporting schedules and documentation on various accruals for payroll, worker’s compensation, legal, accounting, consulting, and other accrued expenses.
- Performs monthly consolidation in Hyperion after month-end close is complete.
- Responsible for the preparation of the monthly consolidated financial statements including balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows.
- Maintains fixed asset sub-ledger and depreciation schedules, including construction in progress (CIP). Works with Plant Controllers to processes fixed asset additions, disposals, and transfers. Tracks capital spending by project vs. budget.
- Updates/maintains reports in Hubble Insight GL/Financial reporting tool.
- Analyzes inter-company activity to ensure accounts are reconciled at month-end.
- Works closely with sales team to analyze sales rebate data to calculate, enter and post monthly rebate journal entries.
- Prepares schedules, analyses and other PBC request items for annual financial audit
- Adhering to month end financial reporting calendar
- Inter-company accounts reconciled by designated date
- Cash receipts allocated accurately
- Journal entry accuracy
- Timely reconciliation of general ledger accounts
- Assists with other duties/projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college or university desired with 3-5 years’ related experience in accounting.
- SAP, Oracle, Hyperion experience preferred
- Proficient Microsoft Excel, Word and Access a must.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
