Principal Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Management of the Production Shift Management team.
  •  Housekeeping
  • 6S Activities
  • EHS. Ensuring MCC EHS PPE guidelines are 100% adhered to with a large focus on prevention rather than cure
  • Producing high Quality product on time in full through the manufacturing process, while minimising customer complaints and the Cost Of Poor Quality (COPQ).
  • Efficient use of production labour as well as minimising all costs associated with manufacturing goods
  • Absenteeism management including return work forms being completed
  • Training and Compliance management
  • Production meetings, ensures occurrence, attends, recognises successes, coaches, delegates, provides support and constructive feedback and drives excellent behaviours leading to great results
  • Continuous Improvement, identifies improvement initiatives through engagement with their team, leads and supports hoshin activities such as kaizens and value stream mapping events.
  • Stock counts, cycle counts and general warehouse management.
  • Excellent cross functional collaboration and communication to ensure manufacturing and warehouse Safety, People, Quality, Delivery and Cost KPIs are met or exceeded

 Qualifications Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrate lean manufacturing experience with demonstrated practical application of lean tools and techniques with examples of process improvement, leadership and program management.
  • Have a proven track record of delivering high performance with at least 5 years’ experience at production Manager/Supervisor level preferably within the print industry in a team-based manufacturing environment.
  • Have significant Manufacturing experience in a print background preferably.
  • Be computer literate with a strong knowledge of inventory systems, MRP and measurement tools.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated management skills at a senior level within a production/operations management field.
  • Proven ability to manage a large team of skilled production operators.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience of formulating and executing to weekly/monthly/yearly budgets.
  • The ability to understand and analyse financial information.
  • Possess excellent customer relationship skills.
  • Possess strong leadership skills and demonstrate success in managing change, developing teams and managing performance.
