About the Company: Monarch Investment & Management Group is a privately owned, financially strong owner-operator founded in 1992. We manage 79,000+ apartment homes across 25 states and are recognized as the 8th largest multifamily owner in the U.S. Our culture prioritizes long-term careers, internal advancement, and operational excellence.
About the Role: We’re hiring a Senior Multifamily Housing Financial Analyst to serve as a key analytical partner to leadership, bridging market intelligence and portfolio performance. You’ll analyze national multifamily trends alongside property-level financials to identify risk, opportunity, and operational strategy.
This role also shapes how ownership communicates with industry groups and capital partners — including National Multifamily Housing Council, National Apartment Association, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac — by challenging conventional vacancy and supply narratives and building a more accurate picture of market conditions.
What You’ll Do:
Market & Industry Analysis
- Source and synthesize multifamily data across supply, demand, vacancy, rent, and construction pipelines
- Utilize platforms such as CoStar, RealPage, Yardi Matrix, FRED, Census, and BLS
- Identify gaps in standard reporting (lease-ups, unstabilized assets) and develop leadership-ready insights
Portfolio & Property Performance
- Evaluate financial performance across the portfolio to pinpoint underperforming assets
- Analyze occupancy, revenue, expenses, NOI, cap rates, and cash-on-cash returns
- Support strategy development to improve asset performance
Financial Modeling
- Build and maintain Excel models for scenario planning, performance analysis, and market forecasting
- Apply DCF, cap rate, pro forma, and real estate finance fundamentals
Executive Reporting & Communication
- Deliver clear reports, dashboards, and presentations for ownership and senior leadership
- Translate complex data into actionable recommendations
- Support materials used in industry engagement and external communications
Travel & Industry Engagement
- Visit regional properties for performance reviews and operational analysis
- Attend conferences and events to stay current on market trends and represent the company’s analytical perspective
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelors in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field
- 3–5 years in financial analysis, real estate analytics, or similar (multifamily/CRE strongly preferred)
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills (DCF, pro Formas, cap rates, cash-on-cash)
- Experience with CoStar and/or CRE data platforms (Yardi Voyager strongly preferred)
- Ability to synthesize large datasets into executive-ready insights
- Strong critical thinking and analytical rigor
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Willingness to travel as needed
Preferred:
- Experience engaging with GSEs, trade associations, or policy audiences
- Familiarity with Power BI
- Master’s degree in a related field
Benefits:
- Blue Cross medical insurance from $45/month
- FREE dental and life insurance
- Vision + voluntary benefits
- 401(k) with 3% company match
- Generous PTO, paid holidays, and sabbatical program
- Tuition reimbursement & paid training
- $500–$1,000 employee referral bonuses
- 20% rent discount at Monarch communities (terms apply)
- Free skiing at Monarch Mountain
