Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will collaborate with multiple departments to perform needed financial functions. In this role, the individual is responsible for monthly reconciliations, analysis of financial statements, and capital expenditures. Further, this role is responsible for reviewing reconciliation performed by staff accountants and training of new hires to the team.
General Functions:
  • Advanced Journal entries
  • Prepare account reconciliations
  • Review of reconciliations of accounting team 
  • Assist in scheduling and coordination of daily tasks amongst the GL Team 
  • Responding to information requests
  • Financial analysis and resolution of discrepancies 
  • Meet month-end close and reporting deadlines
  • Assisting with annual financial statement audit 
  • Assisting with month-end close
  • Sublessee invoicing 
  • Daily cash balancing and depositing checks 
  • Technical GAAP research and authoring accounting policies 
  • Managing ACH and wire requests 
  • New hire training, onboarding, and mentoring
  • Management of capital expenditures, including cost compliance review, reporting, and liaising across departments 
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 5-years’ experience in accounting. A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. Experience in the healthcare and/or veterinary industry is a plus but not required. In addition, this position requires:
