What we offer

Reporting to the Vice President of Digital Innovation, the Senior Manager, IT Services is responsible for the effective management of the IT department including providing administrative direction and support for daily operational activities. They work closely with other IT Managers and Leaders to identify, recommend, develop, and implement cost-effective technology and training solutions while also formulating strategies to optimize current processes.


25-30% travel across Canada (in particular Ontario and Alberta) is considered a routine part of this position.

What you’ll do

  • Manage a team responsible for delivering direct services to multiple homebuilding Divisions across Ontario (Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area and Ottawa) and Alberta (Calgary and Edmonton)
  • Create a delivery plan for all Divisions to support technology initiatives including training, technology refreshes, new hire equipment delivery, etc.
  • Create a process to regularly review the current needs of Divisions including issues needing resolution, training needs, process improvement, and product enhancements.
  • Optimize processes and use automation where possible
  • Manage productivity through ticket and metrics tracking using Service Desk software.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to identify and resolve current Division technology issues and identify gaps for future technology needs.
  • Advocate for the needs of the Divisions when working within the IT teams to ensure the right urgency is assigned to Division requests and issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Work closely with process owners, project champions, and senior leadership teams to provide leadership and direction on the implementation of large change or value improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and business leaders to design onboarding program for new hires.
  • Evaluate current delivery methods for training and implement methods that increase use of training materials.
  • Determine individualized and group training plans that address specific business needs and if necessary, adapt training methods to meet the needs of individual learners to optimize training success.
  • Implement adoption metrics to measure the success of training programs.
  • In collaboration with the project team, proactively anticipate, identify, and communicate issues, risks, escalations, timelines, and delays to ensure an exceptional customer experience and successful implementation.
  • Test, pilot, and document new professional services offerings.
  • Cultivate talent by mentoring, coaching, and training team members.

What you bring

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading and managing team members and training individuals with varying degrees of technical experience within an IT environment.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in administrating, managing, and implementing SharePoint, MS Teams, and other Office365 related services.
  • Proven experience, knowledge, and skills related to web design & development, including HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, SSL and related languages and technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to work with technical and administrative teams as well as external vendors and consultants.
  • The ability to translate complex technical problems into easy-to-understand concepts.

Bonus points

  • Experience working with Freshdesk, or other ticketing systems.
  • Proven experience, knowledge, and skills related to web design & development, including HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, SSL and related languages and technologies.
