What you’ll do  
  • Work with outside architectural firms to create high quality, profitable, Mattamy branded architectural designs for the division
  • Scheduling, review, tracking and implementation of new, refreshed or re-aligned product design, brochures, and CDs
  • Review and coordinate architectural drawings to ensure that all working drawings comply with the strict standards and criteria of local building codes and appropriate building techniques and practices
  • Verify that architectural working drawings correspond with marketing brochures and forward any discrepancies to the appropriate individuals
  • Lead the division in value engineering of product, which includes gathering input from all relevant stakeholders and leading the paper frame-walk process
  • Manage the drawing change (ROC) process, coordinate all drawing revision changes through inception to implementation within the division and with external departments and consultants
  • Coordinate the revision process of working drawings, “As Built Drawings” between phases, structural revisions, municipal and subcontractor revisions and provide “Issued for Construction” drawings to the Division
  • Energy and sustainability innovation as it relates to Architecture and building design
  • Assist construction staff as needed to resolve architectural issues and general review to ensure drawing compliance
  • Manage prototype and model home frame-walk process
  • Coordinate lot specific production with Corporate Architecture (or Architect)
  • Organize exterior color packages for the Mattamy communities, procurement from architect and review, site review to ensure proper application of color packages on built product
  • Participate in weekly product conference calls with divisions
  • Coordinate with Architects and Engineers on model specific floor plans as well as sales office drawings
  • Coordinate with local cities/municipalities design review or permit issues as needed
What you bring     
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or related field
  • 5+ years construction or architectural experience required, residential construction preferred
  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate either verbally, in writing, or visually through use of architectural drawings
  • Working knowledge and skills with drawing application programs in particular, AutoCAD (version 2000+)
  • Ability to apply standard construction techniques to CAD drawings
  • Knowledge of REVIT an asset
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (MS Project an asset)
  • Full understanding and ability to apply local Building Codes
  • Detail-orientated with ability to check documents/drawings for accuracy, communicate detailed changes and ensure corrections are made
  • Good organizational and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and issues with tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to maintain an organized system of tracking, monitoring and prioritizing tasks and projects.
  • Must be reliable and able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments and proactively anticipate needs
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Able to juggle multiple tasks and priorities, quick-thinker, able to pivot and adjust as needed
  • Detail oriented with ability to proof documents for accuracy and communicate detailed changes
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
