ABOUT THE ROLE
Ready to build the technology that fuels our company’s success while ensuring its absolute reliability? We are looking for a hybrid Senior Backend Engineer to join our Operational Systems team.
In this unique 50/50 role, you won't just be writing features; you will be the architect of our quality standards. You will split your time between crafting high-impact backend services using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot and designing sophisticated, automated testing frameworks that ensure our systems are bulletproof. You’ll work in a highly collaborative team, bridging the gap between feature delivery and automated resilience.
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Feature Development (50%): Collaborating with the team to design, execute, and scale microservices for our back-office platform.
- Automation Architecture (50%): Designing and maintaining robust, scalable automation frameworks (API, Integration, and E2E) from scratch.
- Quality Strategy: Proactively identifying architectural gaps and implementing "shift-left" testing practices to catch issues early in the SDLC.
- System Integration: Integrating tools like Zendesk/Chatbots while ensuring every new integration is backed by a comprehensive automated test suite.
- Infrastructure & CI/CD: Utilizing Git/GitHub and Jira to manage code and integrating automated tests directly into our deployment pipelines.
- Mentorship: Leading peer reviews and mentoring the team on both backend best practices and modern test automation patterns to foster a "quality-first" culture.
OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- 5+ years of experience in modern application development with a strong focus on Java and Kotlin.
- Expertise in Test Automation: Deep experience with frameworks like JUnit, TestNG, RestAssured, Playwright.
- Backend Mastery: You know Spring Boot and MySQL inside and out.
- The Hybrid Mindset: You are equally passionate about writing a clean API endpoint as you are about writing the automated test that tries to break it.
- Agile Fluency: You thrive in self-organized environments.
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience with Kafka and GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
- Familiarity with Performance Testing tools (e.g., Gatling or JMeter) and Contract Testing (e.g., Pact).
- A deep commitment to Clean Code, SOLID principles, and advanced Design Patterns.
