Currently, we are seeking a Mid+ QA Engineer to join our team. Here are the challenges that our next warrior will face and the requirements we look for:
Position Title: Mid+ QA Engineer
Location: Hybrid - Medellin
What you will be doing:
The team is looking for a QA Engineer, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, usability, and performance of our products. This position involves designing and executing comprehensive tests, conducting pre-launch assessments, and collaborating closely with our development team to identify and resolve defects. You will be responsible for maintaining high-quality standards through the use of SQL and Datadog Continuous Testing, while also participating in Agile/SCRUM meetings to drive quality assurance efforts. The role uniquely blends hybrid office/remote work, requiring a presence in our Medellin office, enhancing both independent and team-driven tasks to deliver dependable and excellent services across the organization.
- Design, implement, and maintain test plans and test cases based on software requirements.
- Execute functional, regression, and performance testing to ensure product quality.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using issue-tracking tools.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand features and bugs for thorough test coverage.
- Conduct tests before product launches to ensure smooth operations and reliability.
- Analyze test results and work with developers for defect resolution and process improvement.
- Use industry-standard tools and methodologies, such as Datadog and SQL, to drive quality assurance efforts.
- Participate in Agile/SCRUM meetings.
- Perform other related quality assurance duties as needed, ensuring adherence to best practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience writing and executing detailed test cases, test plans, and test design documents
- 3+ years of experience using data-driven testing methodologies to validate results
- Intermediate proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting, providing technical guidance
- Experience in quality methodologies, processes, and techniques
- Proficiency in SQL for basic querying tasks
- Familiarity with automation testing tools such as Datadog Continuous Testing.
- Experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments, with participation in relevant meetings
- Ability to work at least 2 days a week from the office in Medellin, with quarterly full-week office presence
- Strong communication skills and ability to complete testing tasks on time
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with other automated testing tools, such as Mabl or Testim
- Basic experience with database management systems beyond SQL
- Certification in Agile or SCRUM methodologies
- Familiarity with performance and load testing principles
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
