Location: Hybrid - Medellin, Colombia
What you will be doing:
We are looking for a Mid Java Software Engineer with extensive experience building performant, scalable, reliable and testable software solutions as key part of the CoDE engineering team. You are expected to be a hands on developer who has designed reliable systems utilizing modern techniques (event streaming, micro-services,etc), has demonstrable experience applying software design patterns to complex problems and has worked extensively in an Agile SCRUM model.
- Extensive experience promoting and working with test driven development
- Hands on participation in design, coding, testing, and deploying systems
- Has mentored and encouraged other developers
- Experience with various back-end micro-services frameworks (Spring, Helidon)
- Designs systems with an APIs first architectural approach
- Experience working in and promoting a DevOps culture which drives continuous delivery
- Demonstrable experience in promoting and continuous improvement of Agile SCRUM practice
- Demonstrable experience improving existing architectures as business needs and tech stacks evolve
- Experience working effectively with remote and internal development teams
Required Skills & Experience:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related subject
- Proven hands-on Software Development experience, 10+ years
- Proven experience in Java and Web development technologies, 4+ years
- Profound insight of Java internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)
- Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, Oracle, SQL and ORM technologies (Hibernate, iBatis)
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript and popular JavaScript libraries
- Working knowledge of REST frameworks
- Working experience with WebSphere application server and embeddable web servers
- Experience with containers, and cloud operating environments (Azure)
- Experience with cloud native technologies – FaaS, DaaS, Kafka – is a plus
- Experience with Maven, Git and GitHub
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira)
- Experience with Jasper Reports
Nice to haves:
- Experience in Supply Chain Logistics is a plus
- Experience working with front-end stacks such as Angular
- Experience in development of Warehouse Management systems is a plus
- Experience interfacing with autonomous control system is a plus
- Working knowledge of C programming in the Unix/Linux environment.
