We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our Finance department in Atlanta.  The Senior Tax Accountant will work closely with other members of the Tax Function to accomplish the firm’s global tax compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, Federal, state, international, VAT, withholding, etc. This position will play a key role in evaluating, planning, and implementing procedures and processes to comply with tax laws. This role will have direct exposure to Director of Tax with ample opportunity to develop skills required to lead a Tax Function. The trajectory for this role is promotion to manager with direct reports.
 
 
Candidates will have the following responsibilities:
  • Prepare, coordinate and review work papers for the preparation of Federal and state partnership tax returns; review returns prepared by outside accountants
  • Prepare, coordinate and review work papers for the preparation of non-US partnership tax returns and non-resident partner individual tax returns
  • Prepare, coordinate and review local tax returns, including unincorporated business tax, franchise tax, and other city/state jurisdictions
  • Manage value added tax (VAT) responsibilities, including compliance, review of returns and coordinate VAT training and education
  • Calculate non-resident partner US and international withholding taxes
  • Compile income attributable to market-based states
  • Calculate monthly deductions for partner draws
  • Respond to information requests and notices from US and international tax authorities
  • Interact with internal and external personnel to improve processes and procedures
  • Analyze tax expense accounts and reconcile various balance sheet tax accounts
  • Perform special projects as needed
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, Master of Taxation & CPA preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of related job experience as a tax professional
  • Client focused team player with strong time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in preparing schedules and supporting workpapers
  • Professional Services industry experience preferred, especially within a partnership structure
