King & Spalding, a leading global law firm named by American Lawyer as the Best Law Firm of 2023, is seeking a Conflicts & Ethics Specialist to join our innovative and evolving Conflicts & New Business Intake team, which is part of the firm's General Counsel's Office. 
  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review the firm's new business intake forms and related documents, including conflict reports and engagement agreements to identify and resolve business and ethical conflicts.
  • Draft and review waiver letters, engagement letters, and communicate with the lawyers and staff on any changes or additional information that may be necessary before the firm can accept the new business.
  • Work closely with the Associate Director of New Business Intake and a team of Conflicts & Ethics Attorneys.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the Associate Director of New Business Intake or Director of Conflicts & New Business Intake.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least six years of previous conflicts experience including reviewing conflict reports, researching corporate affiliations, and advising firm lawyers on conflict issues or relationship issues, and relevant firm policies is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of the rules of professional conduct.
  • Responsive, demonstrates sound judgement, and can work well under pressure.
  • Adaptive to changing priorities, can meet deadlines, and manage a heavy workload.

Additional Items:

  • This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team focused on supporting the firm's new business intake/risk management function.
  • Primary availability during the later working hours of 11:00 am - 7:30 pm ET, with flexibility to work outside of this standard schedule as needed.
  • Periodic on-call rotation and offers remote work, subject to location approval by the firm. Occasional travel to the Atlanta office may be required.

California, Colorado, Illinois, New York & Washington, D.C. applicants: The anticipated full-time annualized salary range is $85,000 - $127,000. The salary offer will be contingent upon various factors, including but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, market data, job location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
