Research Specialist
King & Spalding, a leading global law firm named by American Lawyer as the Best Law Firm of 2023, is seeking a Research Specialist that will work collaboratively as part of a team to provide research assistance to our lawyers and business services professionals globally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides in-depth research and reference assistance for the firm’s lawyers and staff on a wide range of legal and non-legal issues.
- Works with practice groups and the marketing department on business development and competitive intelligence projects.
- Assists with the training of lawyers and staff on the effective use of legal and business resources.
- Monitors news/trends and manages current awareness searches for lawyers and practice groups on legal, business, and industry developments.
- Participates in reviewing and evaluating new and existing electronic resources to improve service and research efficiencies.
- Serve on-call on a rotating basis, to support research requests after normal business hours and on weekends and holidays.
- Manages projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in a law firm or corporate library. May substitute years of experience for an advance degree such as JD or Master of Library/Information Science.
- Demonstrated proficiency with online news, business, and industry resources such as Westlaw, Lexis, Capital IQ, VitalLaw, CourtLink, PACER, FactSet, and Bloomberg.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong client service orientation, and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure.
The anticipated full-time annualized salary range:
NY: ($87,048-$120,000)
CA: ($83,421-$115,000)
DC: ($82,421-$115,000)
Denver: ($79,794-$108,000)
The salary offer will be contingent upon various factors, including but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, market data, job location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
