Junior Project Manager

Role Description

The Junior Project Manager will assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects under the supervision of a Senior Project Manager or Project Manager. This role is ideal for an aspiring project manager who is looking to gain hands-on experience and develop their project management skills in a dynamic environment.

Core Responsibilities 

Project Coordination

  • Assist in the development of project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Support project kick-off meetings and continuously monitor project progress.
  • Invoice and forecasting tracking, including adding project codes and following up on approvals.
  • Managing the on boarding and off boarding of resources

Communication

  • Serve as a point of contact for project stakeholders and team members.
  • Prepare and distribute project status reports.

Documentation

  • Maintain project documentation, including plans, meeting minutes, and risk logs.
  • Ensure all project documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.

Task Management

  • Help with task assignments and follow up on deliverables to ensure timely completion.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.

Risk Management

  • Assist in identifying and assessing project risks and issues.
  • Support the development of mitigation strategies.

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
  • Email Distribution list maintenance 

Process Improvement

  • Identify areas for process improvement and support the implementation of best practices.

Azure DevOps (ADO) Coordination & Reporting

  • Support the management and pro-actively maintain of Azure DevOps (ADO) project boards, including updating work items, tracking progress, and ensuring data accuracy.   
  • Assist with backlog coordination, sprint tracking, and monitoring project deliverables through ADO dashboards and queries.   
  • Help maintain project governance by tracking risks, impediments, decisions, and action items within ADO.   
  • Support the preparation of project status reporting via ADO dashboards for stakeholders and leadership reviews.  
  • Coordinate with project streams to ensure ADO work items and documentation are properly aligned with project timelines and priorities.   

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 0-2 years of experience in project management or a related field. Internship experience may be considered.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn about project management practices.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  •  Project Management certification (e.g., CAPM, PSM) is a plus but not required.
