As part of that growth, we’re looking for an OTR Tire Technician or OTR Tire Technician Trainee who takes pride in their work, values safety, and wants to build a long-term career in mining.
The Role
As an OTR Tire Technician/ OTR Tire Technician Trainee, you will perform all aspects of tire service and repair for mining equipment, while upholding Kal Tire’s safety standards and service expectations. You’ll play a key role in maintaining operational uptime and setting the standard for service excellence on site. Full training will be provided as a part of onboarding for candidates without prior OTR tire technician experience
- Location: Blackwater, BC
- Shift Options: 14/14 rotations, 12-hour days
- Averaging agreement is required
- Bus in, Bus out (BIBO) provided from Prince George and Vanderhoof
- Camp accommodations provided at Backwater, BC at employer's expense.
- Hourly rate: $36.47 to $46.10

- Perform mounting, dismounting, balancing, and repair of mining tires
- Conduct inspections to ensure safety and performance standards are met
- Operate tire service equipment (manipulators, forklifts, service trucks)
- Work closely with site maintenance teams to support operations
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Support inventory management of tire-related materials
- Maintain required documentation within Kal Tire systems.
- Follow all site safety procedures and hygiene standards
- Use PPE at all times
- Report hazards and unsafe work conditions
- Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement
- Experience as a tire technician is preferred
- Experience in mining industry is strongly preferred
- Experience with haul trucks and loaders with protection chains is an asset
- Ability to operate tire service equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Physically capable of handling heavy materials safely
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s licence
- Successful completion of:
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Physical assessment
- Criminal record check
