Deduction Coordinator

 

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: Pilgrim’s Pride is seeking a Claims and Deductions Coordinator who enjoys investigative work, problem solving, and collaborating with others to resolve complex customer issues. In this role, you will research and resolve customer-reported discrepancies related to product quality, shortages, transportation issues, and other claim-related matters. We value positive attitudes, strong teamwork, and a willingness to learn. While prior claims and deductions experience is beneficial, we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong analytical thinking, accountability, customer service skills, and a desire to grow.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve customer-reported discrepancies related to product quality, shortages, transportation issues, and other claim-related matters.
  • Analyze information from multiple sources to identify root causes and make informed decisions.
  • Utilize Esker to save documentation, process claims, and route approvals through the appropriate workflow.
  • Use SAP to clear deductions, process resolutions, and track credit memos.
  • Apply critical thinking and sound decision-making skills to minimize revenue leakage in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate with a sense of urgency and professionalism through phone and email with customers, carriers, plant personnel, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitate collection efforts with customers and carriers when reimbursement is owed.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation to support audit and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations that improve team processes, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with claims, deductions, accounts receivable, dispute resolution, or customer account management preferred but not required.
  • 2-3 years of customer service, account management, operations, logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Strong investigative and analytical mindset with the ability to research issues, identify root causes, and solve problems.
  • Self-motivated learner who is adaptable, receptive to feedback, and eager to develop new skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation 

 

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $19-$21/hour;
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and

The posted salary range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the compensation that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, tenure, internal equity, market data, and may vary accordingly.
