Specialized Education Services, Inc. The Opportunity 

The Director of Onboarding & Training will be responsible for launching, supporting, and strengthening new hire engagement for the Southeast region.  Preferred base location is Maryland, with consideration given to candidates in Tennessee or Missouri. We are seeking a strategic leader who will own new hire onboarding, training, retention, and ongoing development. Reporting to the Regional Vice President and working directly with Regional Directors, this Director will scale a balanced onboarding operation while collaborating with leaders throughout SESI to shape a welcoming culture for all team members.    

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Include the following. Other duties as assigned. 

  • Plan and implement strategic new hire engagement including initial welcome meetings, consistent check-ins, training schedule, group activities to build welcoming culture, etc. 
  • Support the successful onboarding of all new hires and monitor all key onboarding metrics including new hire satisfaction rates, new hire attrition, and onboarding task completion rates. 
  • Ensure all new hires complete all required trainings and professional development sessions; facilitate trainings as needed 
  • Design and implement New Hire Mentorship Program 
  • Support managers in ongoing supervision and development of new hires  
  • Monitor key data for new hires including staff attendance, restraint, behavior, and attrition data. Collaborate with regional leaders on appropriate next steps and/or trainings that may be needed 
  • Support with recruitment activities when needed including my not limited to participating in interviews, supporting with offer management, etc. 
  • Special projects as needed based on candidate's skill set, as needed, to include but not limited to:
    • Assisting program directors with compliance tasks for academic and behavior models, creating compliance tracking documents
    • Assisting recruitment team with hiring initiatives (i.e., interview days, career fairs, etc.)
    • Providing program support on site
    • Tracking attrition data and identifying trends to be addressed and mitigated
    • Collaborating professional development opportunities with program and regional leadership teams

Qualifications 

  • Current SESI staff member in good standing with at least 2 years’ experience with the company 
  • Must be able and willing to travel throughout the region 
  • Strong fluency with SESI systems 
  • Ability to make data driven decisions 
  • Strong interpersonal relationships and leadership presence
