Objectives of this role:     
As the Vice President of Media, you will join a rapidly growing team to play a pivotal role in shaping and executing comprehensive omnichannel media campaigns in the eyecare space. As the lead for a portfolio of eyecare Rx products, your responsibilities will span account management and media strategy, with a focus in owning and growing strong client relationships. Your objectives include developing innovative media strategies for the portfolio, fostering collaboration among clients and agency partners, and mentoring the media team to elevate their strategy, storytelling, and healthcare insights. As the cross-functional business lead, you will also be responsible for ensuring that media strategies are properly integrated within larger marking initiatives, such as omnichannel, and creative executions.    
    
Duties and Responsibilities:     
  • Serve as the conduit between the agency’s media and analytics functions and the client brand managers and commercial analytics, maintaining strong brand and omnichannel client relationships and ensuring overall satisfaction with the team and agency 
  • Lead cross-team initiatives, ensuring strategic oversight based on deep knowledge of the brands’ business goals and motivating internal teams to meet clients’ performance objectives 
  • Collaborate with extended portfolio team partners within the agency and with partner agencies in the development of 2025 brand planning 
  • Communicate broad understanding of client’s industry, business, customers, and needs to internal stakeholders and strategists to inform media objectives 
  • Lead media strategy development and implementation for ophthalmologists and optometrists across search, social, programmatic, and publisher-direct media channels, tailoring recommendations for each segment, enforcing best practices, and facilitating operational excellence on media deliverables and campaigns 
  • Development and steward of strategic media and omnichannel insights and thought leadership related to the category and campaign, as well as broadly in the pharmaceutical media industry 
  • Oversee the media campaign planning process, including RFP development to align brand strategic imperatives to actionable media objectives, partner and program selection, rate negotiations, and performance agreements, projections forecasting of proposed media plan, and final client delivery of a compelling, data-driven strategic recommendation  
  • Responsible for campaign performance and outcomes-based analytics, including in-market pacing and progression through the brand adoption continuum and quantifying the impact of media performance to brand goals with actionable observations and insights 
  • When necessary, lead the new business RFP process, creating strategic narratives, developing media strategies, planning channel mixes, and establishing measurement parameters 
  • Identify and cultivate opportunities for account growth, leveraging data and analytics to build compelling business cases 
  • Drive professional standards within the team for all client communications, maintaining effective listening skills, and resolving issues proactively 
  • Manage project budgets, including staffing and resource requirements, and management of department resources 
   
Job Requirements    
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in leading pharmaceutical/health & wellness media strategy  
  • Eyecare experience is preferred, but not required 
  • Ability to be a manager, liaison, thinker, and problem-solver 
  • Effective presentation, mentorship, and relationship building skills  
  • Proven experience in digital targeting, data privacy, cross-channel engagement strategy, omnichannel activation, and claims-based attribution  
  • Understand brand fundamentals (positioning, messaging, creative concepts) and how they all work together 
  • Solid understanding of media buying and planning, including deep experience with professional media vendors across digital, traditional, and point-of-care 
  • Strong understanding of media research platforms and tools, such as MediaRadar, Kantar, Mediaocean, and CM360 
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting ideas to clients, senior executives, and internal teams with varying levels of media acumen 
  • Strong writing and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively and within tight deadlines 
  • Competency in media math, financial management, and performance reporting.Although you can work primarily remote, this role requires the ability to commute into our Cedar Knolls, NJ or Saratoga Springs, NY office as needed.
