Position Summary:

EVgo is seeking a Project Engineer to manage the technical aspects of EVgo charger builds in the RFP through the Commissioning phases. A bridge between Development Engineering and Project Management & Construction, you will support finding the right contractors, ensuring they are onboarded and using the project management tools, handling RFIs.  Overall, the Project Development Engineer delivers optimally designed sites incorporating constructability and safe operation.  The successful candidate must be located in the Northeastern United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Package project RFPs and manage the centralized RFP system
  • Provide analysis of contractor bids for design/build services for all EVgo charging station projects.
  • Coordinate the resolution of Requests for Information (RFI) during the bidding and construction phases, and will manage the review and approval of change orders
  • Support Project Managers and Contractors with system-level functions for budget and scheduling functions as well as field mobile apps.
  • Coordinate the purchase of equipment and coordinate the logistics of delivery.
  • Accountability for excellent quality control and code compliance when reviewing Contractor bids, RFIs, and work deliverables.
  • Ensure projects adhere to EVgo standards as much as possible as they pertain to new programs, technology selection, and regional requirements.
  • Pipeline Reporting and maintenance; provide conscientious reporting on multiple projects in the RFP and construction phases.

Qualifications:

  • BS/ MS in Engineering, Electrical Engineering preferred, PE or EIT working towards PE preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in construction-related projects
  • Computer savvy, comfortable working with databases. Salesforce or Sitetracker experience a big plus.
  • Ability to work on a high volume of short timeline (3-6 month) projects
  • Project estimating, construction related costing methods, RFP methodologies
  • Utility, Renewables (commercial solar, energy storage), High Voltage Engineering Industry Experience.
  • Understanding of distribution network and utility/ AHJ requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce or enterprise CRM systems.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal communication, and management skills.
