Position Summary:
The EV transition is upon us, and Federal, State and Municipal entities are helping accelerate that transition with billions of dollars in new infrastructure funding for fast charging.  At EVgo, you’ll join the nation’s largest public fast charging network in planning for, securing, and influencing the course of critical streams of public funding.
Reporting to the Manager, Grant and Proposal, the Associate Manager Grant and Proposal will be, The Grant and Proposal Manager will be responsible for researching, writing, and coordinating the application process and management of proposals for public funding applications, requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposals (RFQs).

You will work to recommend the best tactical approach for securing funding, identify and promote best practices, determine our funding requirements project-by-project, and work internally to match projects with funding opportunities.  Your compelling proposals will demonstrate EVgo’s value to agency decisionmakers, and you will work with internal and external stakeholders ranging from site host partners to our engineering and design and Market Development and Public Policy teams to deliver applications that align with together policymakers’ desired outcomes and our own requirements and processes.

As a grant writer for EVgo you are in a sector that still requires significant analytical and technical abilities. As a subject matter expert you will engage with presenting our technology - both hardware and software. Internally, you will use a number of data sources for information - which will require strong technical capabilities including using CRM, databases and proprietary software.
Responsibilities
  • Research and recommend funding opportunities to pursue.
  • Incorporate projected and known funding deadlines into corporate planning.
  • Draft and revise high-quality grant proposal applications and supporting documents.
  • Coordinate with internal EVgo team members in drafting proposals to ensure consistency in message and equitable distribution of responsibilities.
  • Engage with external partners and follow-up on the progress of submitted proposals.
  • Manage RFI, RFP, and/or RFQ submissions for public partners.
  • Curate and Manage an RFI/RFP Repository and associated records.
  • Ensure data hygiene, including timely and accurate entry of new information
  • Stay engaged and knowledgeable for current performance and developments.
  • Work with other EVgo team members to ensure funding program requirements are understood and met
  • Create project financial models, including IRR and NPV calculations
  • Create project and program specific budgets
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience, major in Communications, Marketing, Finance, Business, or a Sustainability related field preferred.
  • Previous experience with Salesforce or other CRM, grant, and proposal databases (such as KindfulTM or SalsaTM), and RFP monitoring services.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in research, development, finance, business development and/or grant writing.
  • Highly organized and able to track multiple projects at once.
  • Demonstrated ability to write successful grant proposals.
  • Strong copywriting skills including proofreading and style consistency
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven.
  • Clear, precise, and compelling writing skills.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • High proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Quick learner capable of understanding and applying new information.
  • Exceptional team player who can flourish working in a collegial environment as well as being a self-motivated individual contributor.
  • Intellectually curious, with the desire and ability to learn new content and concepts and be able to think creatively.
  • Unafraid to ask questions and keep asking to find the right answer
  • Must possess strong planning, interpersonal, decision-making, problem-solving, and financial skills.
  • Previous experience with proposals related to construction or development, is preferred.
  • Development and proposal experience from non-profit and non-governmental organizations.
  • Experience with transportation or transit agency grantmaking, processes, and decision-making is a plus.
For job positions in CA, CO, and NYC, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $80,000 USD to $95,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition to a competitive base salary, discretionary target cash bonus, and restricted stock units (subject to Board Approval).
