Position Summary:

EVgo is looking for an experienced Sr. Technical Product Manager to own development of ISO 15118 communication requirements, lead and develop detailed OCPP custom feature requirements, and manage charging system suppliers. Familiarity with ISO 15118, OCPP protocols, and/or DIN 70121 specifications are strongly desired as well as a track record of supplier management and application engineering. Detailed understanding on software development is required to work closely with internal and external partners for system development and management. We have some systems that run embedded Windows applications, while others run embedded Linux. Your knowledge of both systems plus general knowledge of Python will help the HW engineering team succeed in bringing the newest charging stations to market, as well as improve existing stations. The ideal candidate should be passionate about electric vehicles and its infrastructure, with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities
  • Own ISO 15118 requirement and validation criteria development by collaborating with internal & external partners for implementation
  • Own OCPP custom features requirement and validation criteria development by collaborating with internal & external partners for implementation
  • Own AC charging system, including but not limited to supplier evaluation and management, networking and communication, UI interface, improving reliability, safety, and performance
  • Create Design Validation Test procedures and documentation
  • Test, debug, and document new software and hardware in coordination with other engineers on the hardware team
  • Track and communicate project progress using Jira, SharePoint, and other tools
  • Contribute to enhancing QA processes and procedures for software.
  • Work with external parties developing Windows OR embedded Linux applications for charging stations
Cross Functional Collaboration:
  • Closely collaborate with the software product management team on developing ISO 15118 and OCPP features, work with the operating platform backend supplier for seamless implementation
  • Develop and manage suppliers including systems and equipment, qualification testing, field testing, and complete system implementation.
  • Support continuous maintenance cost reductions through streamlined hardware product vision and analysis of existing network operational data.
Required Skills and Experience
  • BS degree in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent
  • Systems Engineering experience in an aerospace, automotive, or similar environment.
  • Experience with EV protocols such as CCS, CHAdeMO, OCPP, OCPI, ISO 15118, DIN 70121, SAE J1772.
  • Experience with PKI infrastructure, SSL certificates, including developing a private Root CA.
  • Knowledge of High Voltage systems and system integration testing
  • Experience with Wireshark.
  • Experience with protocols using CAN, Ethernet, Modbus TCP/IP, PLC, and Serial.
  • Knowledge of Linux, including shell scripting.
  • Strong knowledge of Python, including ways to perform analysis and display of scientific data.
  • Be a good self-starter, have a strong ability to deal with ambiguity, establish priorities, and proceed with objectives with limited supervision.
  • Have good organizational skills and an ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience developing with MediaTek SoCs, TI AM3358, or similar embedded Linux environment.
  • Knowledge of Windows application development with an emphasis on embedded/kiosk systems
  • Cloud computing experience with AWS and/or Google cloud.
  • Ability to communicate in Korean or Mandarin Chinese a plus.
