About the role
The Enphase System Control Innovation (SCI) team in the office of the CTO is responsible for defining, prototyping, and supporting the next generation system control solutions for Enphase products. The team is an integrated, multi-disciplinary group that is fast-moving and looking for motivated individuals that can contribute and collaborate closely with the team to deliver innovative solutions. As a member of the SCI team, you will solve some of the most exciting problems in the distributed energy space and help shape the direction of our products.
The Enphase SCI team is seeking a Power Electronics Systems Test Engineer to support prototyping, setup, and test of next generation system products in our Austin, Texas laboratory.
What you will do
- Build experimental test setups and for electrical, thermal, and EMI testing of components, power electronics, controllers, and electrical systems associated with new product and system solution designs
- Provide prototype circuit board rework and testing support for new product development
- Assist in building power electronics product and systems prototypes
- Hands-on bring up of energy system hardware components (relays, power meters, power converters, power supplies, communications devices, etc.) and system electrical assemblies
- Execute test sequences, take measurements, analyze data, and document results from prototype product and systems testing
- Maintain clean and orderly workspaces in the laboratory environment
- Maintain laboratory equipment asset list and calibration schedule
Who you are and What you bring
- AS, BS, or MS Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline with hands-on build, rework, and/or testing experience
- Job title and position level will be determined upon the candidate’s experience.
- Proficiency with common power electronics laboratory test equipment including power meters, electronic loads, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Experience testing products and systems at voltages above 240V and applying electrical safe work practices
- High-volume product development and testing support experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, BOMS, test plans, and rework instructions
- Surface mount soldering assembly and rework
- Wire cable and harness assembly
- Flashing of on-board digital devices with software images
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion in a timely manner and with high quality to support team success
Additional Desired Skills
- Experience developing and executing test scripts in scripting languages such as Python
- IPC-A-610 soldering certification
- Familiarity with HIL simulation-based validation

The base pay range for this position is $80,000k to $118,000k. This salary range may be modified in the future. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, education or training, work location, and market conditions. This position is also eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
