Join our dynamic teams designing and developing next-gen energy technologies and help drive a sustainable future!

About the role

The Enphase Modeling and Controls team, part of the Office of the CTO, defines, prototypes, and supports next-generation control solutions for Enphase products. Specializing in control systems for power electronics, the team leverages advanced simulation frameworks to rapidly develop and validate innovative control algorithms.
We are seeking a Power Electronics Staff Engineer who will contribute to the development, integration, and validation of novel control logic for upcoming products while also enhancing existing designs. As a member of this team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional experts, tackle some of the most exciting challenges in the distributed energy space, and help shape the future of Enphase technology.

What you will do

  • Build and validate transient simulation models integrating power electronics hardware, control loops, and system-level dynamics.
  • Perform advanced modeling, controls analysis, and performance evaluation using industry-standard simulation tools such as PSCAD.
  • Implement custom control logic in ANSI-C and custom-defined models for evaluation in both GUI-based and headless (script-driven) simulation tools
  • Verify control performance and model fidelity through simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and bench-level hardware testing
  • Generate clear documentation for system requirements, models, and control strategies
  • Support hardware brings up and algorithm validation using oscilloscopes, data capture tools, and real-time measurement systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to test, troubleshoot, and iterate on prototype platforms

Who you are and What you bring

  • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline with modeling, control system engineering, and energy system experience.
  • Job title and position level will be determined upon the candidate’s experience
  • Minimum experience for a Senior Engineer: BS and 5+ years of relevant experience / MS with 3+ years / PhD
  • Minimum experience for a Staff Engineer: BS and 8+ years relevant experience / MS and 6+ years / PhD and 3+ years
  • Candidates with greater levels of experience may be considered and are encouraged to apply

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Special Attributes

  • Strong experience developing dynamical models for power electronics systems, generators, power systems, and/or HVDC systems and performing transient simulations for stability, fault analysis, and protection coordination
