SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range for this role is $23.00 to $35.00 per hour. This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.
SUMMARY
In Composites Fabrication, the CNC Technician performs 3D printing, machining, assembly, balancing, and testing of composites fabrication parts to ensure that JAI production needs are met. A CNC technician with extensive experience may be asked to participate in improving new tooling, parts, and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
- Receives Follow verbal and written instructions to configure and manufacture components
- Work on the CNC Machines, 3D printers, foam cutting room, Eastman kitting station, and blade balancing room
- Operate CNC machinery to fabricate parts
- Balance propeller blades for the production team
- Prioritize work to consistently meet part demand
- Load and unload raw materials and equipment
- Set up and calibrate accessories and equipment
- Perform necessary maintenance and cleaning of equipment
- Supervise machines as they run and adjust as needed
- Inspect finished product to ensure it meets required specifications
- Report progress and challenges to the fabrication supervisor or CNC operations lead
- Assist engineering and other production staff in resolving issues related to equipment and processes as required
- Filling out travelers and documenting components’ progress through the shop
- Ability to comply with safety guidelines
- Following all office procedures, including tracking hours and cleaning up workspaces
- Support miscellaneous production, design, maintenance, and facilities activities as needed
- Inspect parts by using the engineering drawing(s)
- Assumes all other responsibilities as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires respirator use for up to eight (8) hours a day.
- Standing for two (2) consistent hours at a time
- Experience with composites, resins, adhesives, coatings, measurement tools, CNC operation, math, forklift
- Familiarity with Personal Protective Equipment
- Basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM software
- Understanding of engineering drawings
- High School Diploma
- The ability to follow verbal and written procedures, good communication skills
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and listen to others
- Keeps quality in mind, attention to detail
- Able to work cooperatively on a team

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
