Flight Data Analysis Engineer
Description
Flight Data Analysis Engineer
Redwire Corporation is a global space and defense technology company building the infrastructure of the future and delivering multi-domain solutions. Redwire Defense Tech specializes in the design, manufacturing, and integration of autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and advanced electro-optical surveillance systems. Our technologies are trusted and deployed across defense, security, civil, and industrial sectors worldwide.
We are seeking a data-driven engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical or aerospace systems and deep expertise in telemetry and performance data analysis.
In this role, you’ll transform complex datasets into actionable insights that drive root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement for advanced uncrewed aircraft systems.
In this role, you’ll transform complex datasets into actionable insights that drive root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement for advanced uncrewed aircraft systems.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on engineering intuition with strong data analytics skills and understanding of how hardware, firmware, software behaves. You’ll play a critical role in improving the reliability, safety, and performance of next-generation aerospace platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze system- and component-level telemetry to uncover performance trends, anomalies, and root causes of failures or degradation.
- Parse, visualize, and interpret large, multi-channel time-series datasets from onboard sensors and instrumentation.
- Use tools appropriate to process and model mechanical, electrical, and thermal performance data (Python, MATLAB, etc.).
- Correlate data across multiple subsystems (thermal, vibration, actuator, structural, power) to reconstruct system behavior and identify failure sequences.
- Own nonconformity management process till stage D4.
- Develop clear, evidence-based conclusions to support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities.
- Collaborate with design, reliability, and test engineering teams to validate findings and implement solutions.
- Produce high-quality technical reports, plots, and executive summaries to communicate insights to engineering and leadership teams.
- Recommend enhancements to data logging, instrumentation, and analysis methods to improve diagnostic capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (or related technical discipline).
- 3+ years of experience in system testing, reliability engineering, or telemetry-based performance analysis.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar tools for data analysis, signal processing, and visualization.
- Strong analytical mindset and practical understanding of mechanical and physical system behavior (vibration, dynamics, thermal, structural).
- Proven ability to extract insights and conclusions from noisy or incomplete data.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills — able to present data-driven findings clearly and concisely.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading or contributing to RCCA or reliability investigations.
- Familiarity with flight test data, mission telemetry, and data acquisition systems.
- Knowledge of sensor calibration, data filtering, and noise mitigation techniques.
- Background in statistical analysis, fault tree analysis, or system reliability methods.
- Experience with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems and documentation standards.
- Exposure to defense, aerospace, or other high-performance system environments.
What We Offer:
- Modern production facility with cutting-edge equipment and a dynamic work environment.
- Salary 3200 – 3600 EUR gross per month depending on experience.
- Health and children accident insurance, after probation time.
- Accident insurance from first day.
- Annual bonus program based on performance.
- Yearly salary review.
- Financial support in special life situations.
- Free parking and company shuttle bus Jelgava–Rīga–Jelgava.
