SALARY RANGE: $102,620 - $210,000

SUMMARY

Edge Autonomy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aero/Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design, analysis, and manufacturing of composite structures. This role requires a deep understanding of the entire design process, from initial concept to part completion, and the ability to work with advanced materials and manufacturing techniques.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Aero/Mechanical Engineer at Edge, you will be responsible for the design and development of advanced composite structures for uncrewed aircraft systems and other high-performance applications. You will engage in the full design process, from initial concept and feasibility studies to detailed design, prototyping, and part completion. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our products' structural integrity and performance. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including project engineers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing specialists, to integrate composite structures seamlessly. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our design and manufacturing processes, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and techniques.

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.  

  • Design and Development: Create detailed designs and specifications for composite structures, ensuring they meet performance and reliability requirements.
  • Analysis and Testing: Conduct structural analysis and testing to validate design performance and compliance with industry standards.
  • Manufacturing: Oversee the manufacturing process for composite parts, working closely with production teams to ensure high-quality output.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and integrated product designs.
  • Innovation: Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance product functionality and performance.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for designs, analysis, and manufacturing processes.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:

  • Minimum of 4-10+ years of experience in aerospace or mechanical engineering, with a focus on composite structures.
  • Proven experience following the design process from initial concept to part completion.
  • Strong background in composite materials, manufacturing techniques, and structural analysis.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and finite element analysis (FEA) tools.
  • Experience with uncrewed aircraft systems is preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
